Best Western Hotel Drug Raid: Suspected Dealer Caught In Hudson Valley, Police Say

A suspected drug dealer was apprehended at a Best Western hotel in Dutchess County after an undercover investigation into fentanyl and cocaine sales, authorities announced.

Joseph A. Adams, 42, was arrested at the Best Western Inn at the Falls in the Town of LaGrange, authorities said.

Joseph A. Adams, age 42, was arrested on Wednesday morning, March 12 in connection with an investigation into drug sales in the Poughkeepsie area, the Dutchess County DA's Office Drug Task Force announced. 

According to officials, Task Force Agents had been purchasing fentanyl and cocaine from Adams at multiple locations throughout Dutchess County. Based on their findings, they obtained a search warrant for a room at the Best Western Plus The Inn & Suites at the Falls in the town of LaGrange, authorities said.

In the early morning hours on Wednesday, agents—helped by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and Patrol Division—executed the warrant and arrested Adams without incident inside the hotel. At the time of his arrest, Adams was allegedly found with fentanyl packaged for sale and a large amount of cash, according to the Task Force. 

Adams has been charged with:

  • Third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell;
  • Third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance. 

After his arraignment in Town of LaGrange Court, Adams was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail with no bail.
